pub struct RateLimiter { /* private fields */ }Expand description
Combined rate limiter that enforces both bandwidth and throughput limits.
Checks are synchronous and non-blocking. Bandwidth is checked before
throughput so that rejected requests are never counted toward the admitted
throughput EWMA. See check for details.
Call start after construction to launch the background
estimation tasks. Without it, bandwidth EWMAs remain at zero and bandwidth
limits are never triggered.
Implementations§
Source§impl RateLimiter
impl RateLimiter
Sourcepub fn new(config: RateLimits) -> Self
pub fn new(config: RateLimits) -> Self
Creates a new rate limiter from the given configuration.
Background estimation tasks are not started until start is called.
Sourcepub fn start(&self)
pub fn start(&self)
Starts background tasks for rate limit estimation and monitoring.
Must be called from within a Tokio runtime.
Sourcepub fn check(&self, context: &ObjectContext) -> bool
pub fn check(&self, context: &ObjectContext) -> bool
Checks if the given context is within the rate limits.
Returns true if the context is within the rate limits, false otherwise.
Sourcepub fn bytes_accumulators(&self, context: &ObjectContext) -> Vec<Arc<AtomicU64>>
pub fn bytes_accumulators(&self, context: &ObjectContext) -> Vec<Arc<AtomicU64>>
Returns all bandwidth accumulators (global + per-usecase + per-scope) for the given context.
Creates entries in the per-usecase/per-scope maps if they don’t exist yet.
Sourcepub fn record_bandwidth(&self, context: &ObjectContext, bytes: u64)
pub fn record_bandwidth(&self, context: &ObjectContext, bytes: u64)
Records bandwidth usage across all accumulators for the given context.
This is used for cases where bytes are known upfront (e.g. batch INSERT) rather than
streamed through a MeteredPayloadStream.
Sourcepub fn bandwidth_ewma(&self) -> u64
pub fn bandwidth_ewma(&self) -> u64
Returns the current global bandwidth EWMA in bytes per second.
Sourcepub fn bandwidth_limit(&self) -> Option<u64>
pub fn bandwidth_limit(&self) -> Option<u64>
Returns the configured global bandwidth limit in bytes/s, if set.
Sourcepub fn throughput_rps(&self) -> u64
pub fn throughput_rps(&self) -> u64
Returns the current estimated throughput in requests per second.
Sourcepub fn throughput_limit(&self) -> Option<u32>
pub fn throughput_limit(&self) -> Option<u32>
Returns the configured global throughput limit in requests/s, if set.
Sourcepub fn bandwidth_total_bytes(&self) -> u64
pub fn bandwidth_total_bytes(&self) -> u64
Returns total bytes transferred since startup.
Sourcepub fn throughput_total_admitted(&self) -> u64
pub fn throughput_total_admitted(&self) -> u64
Returns total admitted requests since startup.

§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.fg(Color::White);Set foreground color to white using white().

fn bg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the background set to

This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():

§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling [Attribute] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.bold();§fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi [Quirk] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);
