Runtime configuration for the Tokio async runtime.
Controls the threading behavior of the server’s async runtime.
Used in: Config::runtime
Fields§
§worker_threads: usizeNumber of worker threads for the server runtime.
This controls the size of the Tokio thread pool used to execute async tasks. More threads can improve concurrency for CPU-bound workloads, but too many threads can increase context switching overhead.
Set this in accordance with the resources available to the server, especially in Kubernetes environments.
§Default
Defaults to the number of CPU cores on the host machine.

OS__RUNTIME__WORKER_THREADS
§Considerations
- For I/O-bound workloads, the default (number of CPU cores) is usually sufficient
- For CPU-intensive workloads, consider matching or exceeding the number of cores
- Setting this too high can lead to increased memory usage and context switching
